QLD OFF-ROAD DRIVER TRAINING Courses are competency based and
therefore provide increased flexibility in the delivery of training thus catering to participants with various levels of prior skills.  These Nationally Accredited courses are completely portable allowing for staff to be trained in locations familiar to their day to day use of 4WD’s and other off road vehicles.  Workplace Training has proven to be effective and cost efficient with excellent results, where we have had the opportunity to deliver our widely accepted training packages ‘on site’.

At QLD OFF-ROAD DRIVER TRAINING, we believe that every client has specific and individual needs.  With each client, Course content is refined to ensure that the training plan suits the specific requirements of the Employer and Trainee. A  major  component of the teaching process with on-site training is maintaining the interest level of Course participants.

QLD OFF-ROAD DRIVER TRAINING places major emphasis on all aspects of Workplace Health & Safety.  From seating position, pre-departure checks, off road driving techniques, through to the safe use of 4WD Recovery Equipment, our  courses revolve around creating a safe workplace.

Firstly, employers must be assured that training given to their employees meets occupational Health and Safety requirements under their state or territory legislation.  Four wheel drive training to National Outdoor Recreation Industry  Standards gives this assurance and listing of Training Support material of the Australian National Training Information Service ensure that the training documentation is of the appropriate quality.
Secondly, for the recreational four wheel driver, training to a nationally accredited course ensures that it meets recognised training standards and is presented by a Training Organisation that has been registered by their state or  territory training authority to present that specific course.
The national accreditation process ensures that the Training Support Material has been reviewed within the training  industry and deemed as appropriate for the existing skill level of the learner, and will impart the necessary 4WD skills to attain the competency level of the training standard.  Successful completion of training and assessment of Competency Unit requirements will result in a nationally recognised Certificate of Attainment being issued to the learner.
Training and assessment may be undertaken under course conditions to a training timetable, or over an extended period.
Learners may continue to receive training and assessment until each competency element within the respective competencies is achieved. You do not have to repeat the entire Competency Unit should you not achieve competency in one element of that Unit.

    SRODRV001A(Drive and Recover a 4wd vehicle)
     1.  Identify four wheel drive specific terms, terminology and techniques.
     2.  Perform pre-departure checks.
     3.  Use the features of a four wheel drive vehicle to drive in a variety of terrain types.
     4.  Use a single snatch strap to recover a vehicle.     
     5.  Perform maintenance and minor repairs on a four wheel drive vehicle.

     6.  Complete pre-departure checks.
     7.  Drive a four wheel drive in difficult terrain.

     9.  Operate in an environmentally friendly manner.
     10. Use dynamic recovery equipment to recover a four wheel vehicle up a steep incline.

     12. Use a winch to recover a four wheel drive vehicle.
     13. Demonstrate the safe use of jacks.
     14. Maintain vehicle recovery equipment .
